10th TURKISH TRANSPORT FORUM

The 10th. Turkish Transportation  Forum  is an on going body chaired  by the Ministry of Transportation. It is the body established by law as a national platform by policy makers and  all the stakeholders  to debate and set the strategic goals  as the guiding principles  for the Ministry.  The Ministry  in past sixty years organized nine forums and is in process of executing the 10th.one in late September 2009. The 10th Turkish Transportation Forum has been organized by international participations as the largest ever organized . The  10 th Transportation Forum has been designed to revise the existing vision and policy, strategy and objectives of  the  Ministry.   The issues for the infrastructure interconnections and integrations on both vertical and horizontal level, border crossing and innovations will be debated on international level. The transportation and communication infrastructure in the county assumed as the backbone of the economy.

Any projects in the field of transportation  is collaterally fuelling the growth in trade and revenue as well as promotes the socio-economic interactions of the country. It is a crucial  task for the planners , for the policy and decision makers  to define the right project, the right spot and the right cost.  The 10th Transportation Forum will be a unique platform for strategic thinking  on the essential role played by transport industry today and the future to prepare the global mobility for the 21st century. Together with the senior representatives from govenments, industry, civil societies and scientific communities the Forum will be an exiting platform  to review the and debate the country’s position in the global economy.

Economic growth must be anchored in a sustainable transport solutions, capitalising on the strengths of different modes.  Developing technological solutions is not enough to address  all of the transport-related concerns worldwide. Political leaders,  civil society leaders, manufacturing and  the fuel industries, the hauliers, vehicle operators and drivers, reasrch and innovation centers must all do their part to help shape sustainable mobility.  The 10th Turkish Transportaion Forum is taking place an environment where  transport sector faces enormous challenges including the vulnerable oil prices, climate change, congestions, safety and securities, rising the cost of investment finance, and all the elements of economic downturns all. Working together on transport issues in Turkey  will be contributing  to unlock the economic  downturn experiencing the world today.  Investment in  transport  and communication
creates jobs more quickly than the restructuration of the rest of the  industry.   Developing transport infrastructure is essential  not only about the recovery but it is also about the future. Let’s hummer together to shape the future of Turkish Transportation & Communication Infrastructure all.

The 10th Turkish Transportation Forum  comes at a time when the country and world needs to identify and address some formidable new challenges that face us. Participants   from around the globe  are cordially invited to attend the   forum meeting  to have their visions and valuable  thoughts at the panels and at the hall.
